The Sunday 24 October walk – Woolthorpe by Belvoir.

We’ve been remiss in not covering Peterborough Ramblers Sunday walks in pictures and words, but I’m hoping now we can put this right – Tony

The 24 October 2021 walk

Stuart led a lovely 8 mile walk for 11 walkers from Woolthorpe, along part of the Grantham Canal and Denton reservoir (one of the two reservoirs that feed the Grantham Canal) before we had a lunch stop in Denton near St Mark’s church, a grade 1 listed building with beautiful glass stained windows (and attractive displays for the Harvest Festival).

After lunch we walked part of the Viking Way enjoying amazing views of Belvoir Castle before arriving back in Woolthorpe. We had beautiful sunny weather but 5 minutes after the walk, the heavens opened. Congratulations to the leader for a well timed walk.
