The Lowest Benefield Walk 16 October 2025
The Lower Benefield Walk 16 October 2025. As witnessed by Tony Attwood
Now the point about Rambling is that one can walk no matter what the weather, no matter how cloudy it is, and indeed no matter than there is not even a car park into which the determined walkers can place their cars.
So being stout fellows and felloweses we parked all on the same side of the lane, opposite the gate that would lead us until pastures unknown, except to the walk leader.
We did of course look back from the opposite direction to see if the cars were still there when we turned around and I am delighted to say that although the perspective was different, they were indeed still there, which when you come to think of it was quite remarkable and not something that is seen in the English countryside every day.
Ranks of cars, all in a row in a country lane. Whoever would have thought it?
Well who indeed?
And what are these, you may ask, and I would love to answer you but I have not the slightest idea, but I can assure you there were most certainly on the walk, because they appear on my camera. In fact they appear on the camera several times – suggesting perhaps that they are some special mystical objects only to be found in the countryside….
