{"id":4318,"date":"2023-11-27T17:16:20","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T16:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/?p=4318"},"modified":"2023-11-27T17:16:20","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T16:16:20","slug":"the-draft-strategic-plan-peterborough-ramblers-at-the-extraordinary-general-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/?p=4318","title":{"rendered":"The Draft Strategic Plan: Peterborough Ramblers at the Extraordinary General Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">The Ramblers Draft Strategic Plan<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peterborough Ramblers have been very much engaged with the Ramblers concerning the creation of a strategic plan, and on Saturday 25<sup>th<\/sup> November 2023 our chairman Barry Creamer attended an Extraordinary General Ramblers Meeting in Manchester to discuss and approve a Draft 10 year Strategic Plan.\u00a0\u00a0 Around 100 members attended.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s Barry\u2019s report which was made to the Peterborough Ramblers AGM in November 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>Behind the plan are the fundamental values of the Ramblers, that we are Inclusive, Inspiring, Empowering and Responsible.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Four key Aims and Objectives were set out\u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Members access to paths and Rights of Way.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and confidence to walk outdoors.<\/li>\n<li>Improved participation of communities.<\/li>\n<li>Support for Ramblers&#8217; charitable cause.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The meeting received a presentation from Ross Maloney \u2013 C. E. And Rebecca Dawson &#8211; Chair of Trustees and this included some details of the Ramblers most noted achievements since 2014.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500,000 Group walk completed<\/li>\n<li>49,000 lost paths saved<\/li>\n<li>Opening the Cwmbran Way<\/li>\n<li>Hastings \u2013 awarded Best Walking Neighboured<\/li>\n<li>Paths to Wellbeing \u2013 10,000 walkers attended<\/li>\n<li>Isle of Wight \u2013 250 access gates installed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We then had an open discussion on the Draft Document Proposal in which Barry contributed three key points on our behalf&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Strategic Plan must support existing members and Groups with Engagement and practical support to maintain and strengthen, responding to everyday issues faced.<\/li>\n<li>The Plan would need to be realistic, and deliverable within the resources of Groups.<\/li>\n<li>The Plan should also reflect over the first 5 years basic steps to move towards the Plans Aims.
