But the rain now had turned to a very light drizzle and the decision was to give the road up to the church a miss today, one member looking puzzled when the church was mentioned and asked why are we going up to the church!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4236 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fotheringx2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"446\" height=\"595\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fotheringx2-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fotheringx2-rotated.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 446px) 100vw, 446px\" \/><\/div>\n<div>On we walked, the leader nearly taking us into the sewage factory but the smell deterred us.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Walk over and a few muddy boots but all returned happily to our cars with smiling faces, and dry with<\/div>\n<div>our perfect kit of waterproofs and boots.\u00a0 Let\u2019s hope a few more turn up for the next thoroughly enjoyable walk.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8212;&#8212;-<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Editor&#8217;s note: I was one of those who looked at the weather and very feebly decided not to go, and it looks as if I missed a good one.\u00a0 But I have found from our archives a picture of the aforementioned church taken on a previous walk, so I can add this to the file, although it is somewhat inaccurate from the point of view of the weather.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3015 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Fotheringhay_church.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"335\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Commentary and pictures from Jackie Markley Forecast rain and windy but this did not stop six hardy walkers today.
