Or what should we make of the gentleman on the left whose shirt appears to match the design of the wagon?\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3393 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_133336461-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"377\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_133336461-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_133336461-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_133336461-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_133336461-1-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_133336461-1-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 377px) 100vw, 377px\" \/>Or indeed the sign concerning <em>Equus africanus asinus <\/em>or donkey if you prefer.\u00a0 \u00a0Was this left as a note for future generations, in the era before dogs existed?\u00a0 A sort of warning of what was to come?<\/p>\n<p>Now we do know that Folksworth was a strange and unusual land in these\u00a0 days although the Domesday Book does not explicitly detail the population of a place save that it records there were 22 households at Folksworth.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3394 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135410081-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"469\" height=\"352\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135410081-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135410081-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135410081-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135410081-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135410081-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 469px) 100vw, 469px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, this is indeed a strangely strange and also mysterious land from days of yore where the Ancients left odd pathways allegedly to aid the landing of spaceships from alien worlds whose crew planted the seeds of what it was hoped might be intelligent life later (although clearly a project that failed if one looks at the state of the world around us).<\/p>\n<p>From whence did these symbolic structures come, and indeed what do they symbolise if not the very essence of pre-humanity?<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3395 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135658739-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135658739-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135658739-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135658739-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135658739-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_135658739-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/> And then we have the clock tower &#8211; built on a stable block.\u00a0 \u00a0Clearly the aliens who inhabited this part of the planet had bred horses that could read the time.\u00a0 Given that a substantial number of employees with whom I have dealt across the years have failed to master this art (at least in terms of when work starts and finishes) they were indeed a superior race, and one of which we should learn much more, I believe.<\/p>\n<p>For what would we do in our sorry state of now-ness if these beings with their intelligent horses returned?<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3397 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141407912-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"409\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141407912-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141407912-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141407912-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141407912-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141407912-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But herein there was much beauty too, all clearly built by the race that long preceded humankind and yet from which we have inherited so much in terms of what we appreciate in the art and the design of the landscape.<\/p>\n<p>And oh how the Domesday Book writers were craftily misled by these early invaders of Cambridgeshire, who jokingly convinced the tax collectors that there were only eight ploughlands at Folksworth in 1086. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3399 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_140351499-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"435\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_140351499-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_140351499-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_140351499-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_140351499-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_140351499-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 435px) 100vw, 435px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then in addition to the arable land, there were told there was 20 acres of meadows and 369 acres of woodland at Folksworth.\u00a0 And yet amidst this all no mention can be found at all of the builders&#8217; spaceships!!!<\/p>\n<p>How, forsooth, could this not be?\u00a0 How could the historians be so blind as to not see what there was to see which could be seen by others who foresaw what there was to be seen even though they were not anywhere near the sea.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3402 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141429209-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141429209-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141429209-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141429209-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141429209-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/peterboroughramblers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/PXL_20230420_141429209-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For here indeed there is a land of beauty and colour, mixed with the quaint traces of ancient signage, a remnant of a kingdom long since gone &#8211;
