Our pictures thus far (see the link above) covered the most beautiful and delicate aspects of the Burghley \u00a0House walk.\u00a0 But there was also a deeper, darker side to the walk which Jonathan captured in his images.\u00a0 \u00a0A deeper, darker side which look us below and beyond of roaring gridlock of the A1 as it follows its ancient ancestors from London to the norther reaches of the Empire.\"\"<\/p>\n

For indeed this is the land of the deepness and the darkness, a land by and large unknown to those living in the glorious sunshine above.\u00a0 A land where strange creatures dwell; a land whose history has yet to be written; a land where… well you get the idea.<\/p>\n

Thus only the brave and perhaps foolhardy few will venture into such landscapes, and indeed not many return.\"\"\u00a0 Which is indeed why Peterborough Ramblers is always on the lookout for new members who are willing to Ramble where no one has ever Rambled before.<\/p>\n

This will include venturing into the deep and dark underworld that exists below the remains of these ancient ruins, telling as they do stories of bygone eras, or perchance days yet to come<\/p>\n
